The income tax department’s e-filing portal now includes RTGS/NEFT and payment gateway options for the e-pay tax service. The income tax e-filing website now offers a variety of tax payment options, including net banking, debit card, pay at bank counter (over the counter), RTGS/NEFT, and payment gateway (with sub-payment modes such as net banking, debit card, credit card, and UPI).
Taxes can be paid using RTGS/NEFT at any bank that offers this service. Taxpayers can also use the current procedure to pay their taxes on NSDL.

you can pay your taxes using the following methods:

  • Authorized Bank Debit Card,
  • Authorized Bank Net Banking Facility, or
  • Payment Gateway (Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking of Non-Authorized Banks or UPI)

Taxpayers must pay their taxes within 15 days of receiving the challan (i.e., 15 days from the date of CRN generation).
In the case of the advance tax, taxpayers must make the payment within 15 days of the date of CRN generation, or by March 31 of the current fiscal year, whichever is later.

anyone can schedule their tax payment through Net Banking. This option, however, is not available for online payment with a credit or debit card.

If you are unable to see the bank account through which you wish to pay while selecting the mode of payment, you may select your desired authorized bank from the list of banks available under the Other Bank dropdown.

The list of banks that have integrated with e-Filing can be found on the e-Filing portal’s Login with Net Banking page.

to know your transaction is successful You will receive a confirmation message on your registered email address and mobile number with the e-Filing portal. Furthermore, Payment History will show the status of a successful payment as well as the CIN provided by the bank when the payment is confirmed.

Only a few bank accounts allow you to schedule payments through Net Banking. If you have chosen to schedule payment via Net Banking, please ensure that you have a sufficient balance in the chosen bank account on the date of tax remittance.
