Starting next week, many eligible Americans will see a check worth up to $465 dollars arrive, this due to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources making a payment available for all the residents that took part in the Low Income Energy Assistance Program or LIEAP in 2022.
What is the LIEAP?
The Low Income Energy Assistance Program helps households with the cost of home heating by giving them direct cash payments for their utility bills.
It’s administered by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR), Bureau for Children and Families, Office of Programs and Resource Development, Division of Family Assistance.
And now they have announced that a supplemental payment of up to $465 dollars will be made to those enrolled in the program starting next week.
How much money will I receive through LIEAP?
The amount of money will be determined by the way an individual used LIEAP in West Virginia, with it running from the $25 to the $465 dollar mark.
Payments could be made directly to the individual or credited on their behalf to the utility companies by the states department of health and human resources.
Eligible residents in West Virginia can expect this relief check to arrive before the end of September.
